Our Vision - to promote a prosperous civilian space industry
Some of Our Past Projects

SAMSON
Space Autonomous Mission for Swarming and Geolocation with Nanosatellites (SAMSON) is a new satellite mission, led by the Technion (PI: P. Gurfil) and supported by IAI, RAFAEL, Elbit Systems, SPACECIALIST and other partners. SAMSON will include three nano-satellites, built based on the CubeSat standard. The mission is planned for at least one year, and has two main goals:
-
Demonstrate long-term autonomous cluster flight of multiple satellites, with algorithms based on DSSL’s ERC-funded FADER study; and
-
Determine the position of a radiating electromagnetic terrestrial source based on time difference of arrival (TDOA) and/or frequency difference of arrival (FDOA).

Duchifat-1
The Israeli student satellite, Duchifat-1, is an experimental and educational spacecraft developed and built by Israeli young students of secondary schools at the SpaceLaboratory of the Herzliya Science Centre (HSC). The project is directed by Dr Ana Hellerwith support from the Herzliya city municipe and the Israeli Amateur Radio Organization. The main mission of the satellite is to transmit real-time information via radioamateur packets from a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) using the Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS) protocol. Duchifat-1 will allow remote traveler's to accessthe satellite for worldwide position/status reporting and messaging even in the caseof using simple handheld or mobile radios with Omni-directional whip antennas. This satellite can be very useful in Search and Rescue missions.

Educational Experiments in Near Space
Our students can design and build experiments which will be launched to near-space (~50 km) onboard Stratospheric balloons. The balloons are launched by Zero2Infinity - a Barcelona based company which specializes in launching statospheric balloons. On the 20th of June 2 experiments developed by Ramat Hasharon students were already launched.
