With a two weeks of notice we all started to get ready for one of the most exciting summer of our life - The 28th Summer Space Studies Program (SSP15) of International Space University (ISU)’ This considered the world’s premier international space education institution. And this year will be held at Ohio University at Athens, Ohio US.
So at this summer we will get to meet more than 110 participants from 30 countries — and 150 more faculty members. Those new friends among others are engineers, scientists, and legal and medical professionals from government and space agencies, academia and aerospace companies.
In those intense nine-week together we will get to do some fun staff such as participate in robotic contest, launching a rocket and party at a space costume party AND a trip to NASA! Of course, the program also includes the traditional academic aspect and design to help the participants in their professional development the highlighted disciplines include space physical sciences; space engineering; space policy, economics and law; space management and business; space and the humanities; space applications and human performance in space.
Our preparation included a virtual meeting on Skype with all the seven of the Israeli SSP15 with some of the Israeli SSP alumni who gave us a mental preparation and tips from there on SSP experience. Next we all got together in a meeting held at the Israeli Space Agency headquarters
there we got the professional briefs from the agency representatives some giveaways…
